Mwenezi– Sustainable Agriculture Technology (SAT), with support from the OAK Foundation, is enrolling for the second stream of students for the Rutenga Youth Vocational Skills Training Centre (YVSTC).
The initiative aims to empower young Zimbabweans in the Mwenezi District with practical, market-relevant skills to foster self-reliance and community development.
The training program offers two specialized courses, Solar and Drip Irrigation Systems, enrolling 20 candidates.
Metal Fabrication will enroll 10 candidates.
Each course is structured as a two-month program, comprising one month of intensive contact-based instruction followed by a second month of supervised off-site practical support with instructors.
Upon successful completion, graduates will receive official certificates and be supported to establish themselves as service providers within their local communities.
The program is also designed to enhance the employability of participants in related sectors.
SAT said the selection process is open and transparent, with strict adherence to non-discrimination principles on the basis of gender, race, disability, religion, or any other factor.
Applicants must be a male or female Zimbabwean citizen, aged 18 to 35 years, and a resident of any rural ward within the Mwenezi District.
However, applicants must hold at least 3 “O” Level passes (ZIMSEC or Cambridge School Certificate) and be able to secure their own accommodation in Rutenga for a minimum of one month during the training period.
Candidates must also have the financial capacity to contribute US$50 or ZAR 900 towards protective clothing and meals during the training.
Interested and eligible candidates are required to submit their applications along with a short Curriculum Vitae (CV) including contact details. Applications must clearly state the preferred vocational course.
The deadline for application is 21 September
Classes are scheduled to commence on 6th October 2026.
