Mwenezi- In the drought-prone region of the Mwenezi district, a remarkable transformation is quietly taking shape, driven by the visionary leadership of Albert Ndhlovu Chivanga the Mwenezi Rural District Council Chief Executive officer.
Rising through the ranks of the local authority to become the Chief Executive Officer of the Mwenezi Rural District Council (RDC) in 2014, Chivanga has emerged as a man on a mission, determined to redefine what a rural district can achieve.
His relentless dedication has not gone unnoticed, earning him multiple awards for his stellar efforts in revolutionizing local governance, transforming the district’s infrastructure, and dramatically improving service delivery for residents.
At the helm of a committed team consisting of five heads of departments, Chivanga oversees 18 wards, 23 councilors, and a dedicated workforce of 46 employees.
Together, they are tackling the region’s geographical and economic challenges head-on.
Under his guidance, the district is pursuing a comprehensive development agenda that touches every facet of community life.
From upgrading educational facilities and expanding healthcare access to maintaining vital rural roads and securing reliable access to clean, safe drinking water, Chivanga’s administration is laying a rock-solid foundation for sustainable growth.
Visible milestones are already evident across the landscape.
New classroom blocks are actively being constructed to ensure that children across every ward have access to conducive learning environments, reflecting the council’s commitment to human capital development alongside physical infrastructure.
Far from viewing these goals as mere aspirations, Chivanga firmly believes that turning Mwenezi into a model rural industrial hub is entirely within reach.
He emphasizes that this ambitious journey is a collaborative effort shared by his entire team and the community members they serve.
“We want to be the center of excellence on socio-economic activities for the residents of Mwenezi, where as a local authority, we will be providing high-level service delivery to our ratepayers,” Chivanga said
