Bikita-Masvingo United FC laboured to a nil-all draw with new boys Bikita Chida Athletic Club at Lithium Stadium, while their counterparts FC Wangu Mazodze were outclassed by log leaders Yadah FC at Heart Stadium in Harare.

Una Una who came into the match after a one-nil loss away to Buffaloes in a Munhumutapa Cup clash, were seeking to atone for their loss against league newcomers Bikita Chida Athletic, who proved stubborn from the onset.

Both teams showed balance and attacking prowess, but could not bury the chances that came their way in an evenly balanced first half.

Despite playing a passing game in the second half, no meaningful chances were created by either side, who seemed content with keeping possession.

Una Una who had the upper hand after making second-half substitutions, could not grab the winner with the Bikita Chida defense unyielding.

In the end, it all ended with a share of the spoils, which saw Una Una drop further down the chasing pack.

Elsewhere in Harare, FC Wangu Mazodze were massacred by a Yadah side which is being pitted by many as title contenders.

Yadah set the tone against an out-of-sorts Kingdom Boys outfit through three quick-fire goals, which saw them carry a healthy three-nil lead heading into half-time.

The script remained the same, with Yadah dominating the exchanges while seeking to extend their lead.

Yadah scored a fourth in the 64th minute, which effectively put the game beyond FC Wangu Mazodze’s reach.

FC Wangu Mazodze scored a consolation in the 81st minute when Nicholas Muchadeyi scored from the penalty spot.

The win meant Yadah opened a 3-point gap at the top while FC Wangu dropped down the pecking order.

FC Wangu Mazodze spokesperson Courage Kandira said the loss is devastating, but they are now working on their next assignment against Una Una.

“It is unfortunate we lost with such a high margin. The result is devastating to the technical and playing staff as well as the supporters. As a team, we feel like we did perform badly, and we are working out to regain form as we face Masvingo United on Sunday,” said Kandira.
