BIKITA- Bikita Minerals a leading lithium mining company in Zimbabwe has successfully distributed over 14,000 kilograms of Maheu to 16 primary schools in Bikita District for the first term of 2026 assisting nearly 10 000 learners in development viewed as reinforcing its commitment to community development.

The programme began in 2022 targeting at least 5000 learners but it has grown in scope across the length and breadth of schools in Bikita District.
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative is designed to complement the Government’s school feeding scheme by providing vital nutritional support.
“This term, the programme welcomed two new beneficiary schools: Chikukutu and Dungu Primary Schools, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to broadening its positive impact within the
Community.
Feedback from school authorities highlights the programme’s multifaceted benefits, including improved learner attendance, enhanced daily energy and nutrition for students, as well as critical
support for children from vulnerable backgrounds. “Said Bikita Minerals in a statement.
School heads from the schools benefitting under the initiative expressed gratitude for the sustained support.
“We are grateful that our schools are getting much needs nutritional support which keeps our learners in class even those from disadvantaged backgrounds can at least have drinks at break time” said one School Head.
Bikita Minerals said it is committed to not only continuing but also exploring avenues to enhance the vital programme.
