Masvingo- Masvingo based ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League FC Wangu Mazodze has vowed to restore its lost pride in the upcoming 2026 Division 1 league season.

The club which is bankrolled by Richard Mazodze has conducted trials in Renco at Maramba Stadium with the selected squad set to be finalised in due course.

FC Wangu Mazodze spokesperson Courage Kandira said the club is on a rebranding exercise.

“Expect a rebranded Fc Wangu Mazodze, ready to bring new energy, competition and entertainment to our most valuable stakeholders and supporters. The technical team is ready, the executive is ready, we wish the same from them” said Kandira.

Kandira also said the trials went well and the club received an overwhelming response with the squad set to be announced through formal channels soon.

“We are happy with the progress and everything is going according to our set plan. We completed our trials and the response was overwhelming. We are now joining the last pieces of the puzzle. We are expecting to receive a full report from the technical team. And we will publish it as soon as all the formal procedures have been done” added Kandira

Meanwhile fellow Masvingo based outfit Masvingo United have kept their season under wraps.

Una Una who are hunting for a new head coach have also conducted trials under the watchful eye of interim coach Josiah “Mandeya” Chekecheke.

Just like FC Wangu Una Una have gone quietly about their business and are yet to communicate any changes to their squad and technical setup.
