Masvingo United FC carried on their winning momentum with a hard fought 2-1 away win against St Pauls Musami.
Una Una who are in contention to grab the sole premiership promotion ticket up for grabs in the Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League needed a win to remain joint top with FC Hunters who crashed Buffaloes 4 nil.
Una Una were caught off guard in the 11th minute by the Saints in the early stages of the match with the home side grabbing an early lead.
The Saints remained solid in defence giving Una Una no room for an equaliser throughout the first half.
Masvingo United returned from the break rejuvenated seeking an equaliser and were duly rewarded through an Agrippa Murimba 57th minute strike.
The tide shifted with Una Una dominating the exchanges but nothing much materialised in front of goal.
Luck ran out for the Saints who were resolute in defence as they were breached by a 74th minute Keith Mavhunga strike which sealed the win for Una Una.
Masvingo United FC supporter Keen Takawira who organises transport for away trips said they always travel to win and fully rally behind their boys.
“The boys played well they displayed a fighting spirit. Our opponents should know that we will win home and away as we always say kwatavirigwa ndiko kumba gore rino hazvikoni the premier league is coming to Masvingo” said Takawira.
At Mucheke Stadium FC Wangu Mazodze played to a 1 all draw with Deportivo LaMurambinda.

FC Wangu Mazodze spokesperson Courage Kandira said the team played well but failed to bury the chances which came their way.
“We played very well. We had a good run in the first half but we failed to convert the many chances we got. We came back in the second half promising more goals but we were caught off guard and our opponents found the net when most we didnt expect it as a result of their efforts and good play. However, we are happy with the result as we mantain our positive play.” said Kandira.
Meanwhile relegation threatened GZU FC pulled a shocker emerging 2-1 winners away to Tongogara FC.
The Students kept their chances of survival alive in enemy territory in a match in which critics thought they would be walloped.
The win meant GZU eased their relegation woes a bit but still have a lot to play for in order to survive the dreaded chop.
