MASVINGO — The Reformed Church in Zimbabwe (RCZ) has affirmed its clear stance against all forms of gender-based violence, including physical, emotional, spiritual, and digital abuse.
Rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, RCZ declared that every person, man, woman, and child is created in the image of God and deserves to live free from fear, harm, and oppression.
The church joins the global call to UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls, adding that online abuse, cyberbullying, exploitation, and harassment are real and devastating forms of violence silence voices, destroy dignity, and isolate victims.
In a statement by the RCZ moderator, Rev Ezekiel Baloyi, the religious institution stressed that gender-based violence is a sin against humanity and a violation of God’s call to love, justice, and dignity.

“RCZ commits to being a place of refuge, healing, and advocacy for survivors both offline and online, vowing to speak out, educate, support, and act until every chain of abuse is broken.
“Biblical guidance anchors the church’s position, including the principle of the equal value and dignity of all individuals, as reflected in Genesis 1:27,” Rev Baloyi said.
The statement called on the church to rise as a voice for the voiceless and to act as agents of healing and justice within communities and digital spaces
The RCZ moderator invited believers and communities to unite in prayer, action, and compassion to end violence in all its forms.
“Let the Church rise as a voice for the voiceless. Let us be agents of healing and justice in our communities and digital spaces. Let us unite in prayer, action, and compassion to end violence in “he said
