GUTU- A Zanu PF councilor for ward 16 in Gutu east, Peter Chidhakwa was recently restrained from committing suicide after was caught red handed copulating with a married woman he had lured with his new motor bike distributed to all Gutu Rural District Councilors a few weeks ago.

Chidhakwa and the married woman who cannot be named for now were where allegedly busy enjoying the forbidden fruit in a bushy area around Musinha and Rutonhora villages in Kurai area under Chief Munyikwa when the husband of the woman suddenly appeared.

Sources who declined to be named said it is suspected that the married women’s husband intercepted Watsapp chats between the two love birds planning to meet in the bush for a romping sex session and followed them secretly and caught them in a compromising position.

Councilor Chidhakwa’s motor bike was parked nearby in the bush while they were doing their promiscuous act.

After being caught villagers gathered at the scene and he attempted to commit suicide by tying himself on a tree using a tree rope (Gavi).

But villagers who had gathered at the scene saved his life by pulling him down before it was too late. It is also said he resisted the villagers efforts vigorously but was however overpowered.

He was also counseled and restrained by his close friend who is also a councilor in the Gutu RDC chambers.

The incident left villagers and elders in Gutu east shell shocked.

“What happened is very bad and uncultured, how can a married women surely be lured by a motor bike to engage in sex with a married councilor, maybe she receives many benefits because councilors distribute government and NGOs aid like grain and seeds. But we urge politicians not to abuse their power and influence to fornicate with a married women and even our girls,” said a woman who declined to be named for fear of victimization.

It is alleged that the husband went and abandoned her wife to Cllr Chidhakwa’s homestead and said he was now his wife and daughter in law to the councilor family.

Local elders had to intervene and engaged the village head who later reported the case to Chief Munyikwa to resolve the matter.

Chief Munyikwa allegedly instructed her mother in law and her father to attend a hearing but it failed to take off as her father was allegedly in Harare.

The father is allegedly back in the village and a trial date will be set soon as villagers are anxious to hear the outcome of the hearing.

Efforts to get a comment from ZANU PF to hear if this conduct was in line with their policies were fruitless, as this has a potential to dent the image of the party.

Efforts to get comment from Cllr Chidhakwa and Chief Munyikwa were also futile as their mobile phone were not reachable.
